The Ant and the Grasshopper

On a beautiful summer day a grasshopper hopped around lazily in the grass. He was warm, happy and well-fed. So he was chirping and singing to himself because life was good. Suddenly he heard noises coming from near about. An ant was slowly dragging a large ear of corn.

The grasshopper hopped in front of the ant. “What are you doing?” he asked. “It’s too hot to work today.” Come and hang-out with me,” invited the grasshopper. The ant sighed. “I can’t. I am storing food for the winter. You should be doing the same.”

“Oh, I’m not bothered about winter now,” laughed the grasshopper. “There’s plenty of food around. Come on, rest in the cool for a while.”

“I can’t,” the ant said and he started dragging the corn ear again. “Moving this corn is really important.”

“Okay then,” said the grasshopper, “see you around.” He went back and started singing again while the ant kept working.

As days pass by, winter arrives in the nature. The grasshopper had to keep moving and looking for food. But there was nothing but snow to eat. He got weaker and weaker until he couldn’t move at all. One day several ants came by him as he was lying in the snow. He thought, “The ants will give me food.”

He called out: “help, please help me. I need food,” but the ants were too far away and too busy to hear him.

The grasshopper knew then that the ant he met back in summer was right. He should not have wasted all his

Time when food was plentiful.

Finding out a Contented Man

Once there was a rich industrialist. He possessed an unsatisfied thirst for wealth. One day he was sitting unrest on a bench on the bank of river. He was thinking about the ways how to enhance his wealth.

He saw fisherman sitting lazily beside his boat.

"Why aren't you out there fishing?" the Industrialist asked.

"Because I've caught enough fish for today," said the fisherman.

"Why don't you catch more fish than you need?' the rich man again asked the man.
This time, the fisherman asked him- "What would I do with them?"

The rich man replied, "You could earn more money, and buy a better boat so you could go deeper and catch more fish. You could purchase nylon nets, catch even more fish, and make more money. Soon you'd have a fleet of boats and be rich like me."

The fisherman again asked, "Then what would I do?"

"You could sit down and enjoy life," said the industrialist.

"What do you think I'm doing now?" the fisherman replied as he looked placidly out to sea.
