Nowadays, climate change is one of the most burning issues in the world. Because a favorable climate is essential for the safe and risk free existence of human, animal and plant life. It is sorrowful but true that the climate of the world is dynamic and is changing always. And it is a fact that the change is not positive for us at all.
In recent years, the climate of the world is undergoing a significant change. There are so many reasons behind this climatic change. According to the climatologists of the world, human activity is the prime cause of global warming along with natural disasters. Greenhouse effect is the main culprit of this rapid change of climate. Man is largely responsible for greenhouse effect. Huge emission of carbon dioxide by people around the world has created this problem. The destruction and burning down of tropical rain forests and fossil fuel is another reason of greenhouse effect. Rapid growth of industry, traffic, the use of CFC and methane are also responsible for this.
Today climatic change and its impact are the prime concern of the climatologists. We are noticing global warming and rising of sea level around the world due to the climatic change. If this rising of sea level is not stopped, the lower parts of the world may one day go under water. The balance of the environment will break down and the average temperature of the world will increase. If such condition goes on for a long time, the world would be hotter. There would be drought throughout the world. Agriculture, forestry, fishery and wildlife will be seriously damaged.
The most alarming news is that the ice in the arctic region would be melting due to global warming. As a result, the rivers will overflow their banks causing frequent floods. Many islands, cities near the sea, many parts of the world including Bangladesh will go under water. In fact, it is a severe threat for the low lying countries like Bangladesh.
Climate change is a global problem, so we need a global solution. Hopefully, many individuals, private institutions, NGOs and some governments have already initiated, or are going to initiate activities to make people aware of the severity of the problem and to get them involved in facing it. Experts, scholars, religious leaders agree that current efforts are not enough to solve this multi-dimensional problem. We must have to claim compensation to the rich countries of the world who are mainly responsible for global climate change.
Global warming must be stopped at any cost for saving the world and ourselves. People should not be allowed to cut trees randomly. Campaign for tree plantation in a large scale should be made compulsory in every region. Mills and factory owners must have to play their role to save the climate. Above all, environment pollution must be stopped by any means. Mass awareness is a must regarding this.
