Causes and effects of Load shedding

Load-shedding refers to the discontinuation of the continuous supply of electricity. Now-a-days it has become a regular affair in our day to day life. Today, it is one of the most serious problems in our country. There is hardly any area of the country which is not affected by it. Load-shedding mainly occurs due to the less generation of power than the demand. Often it occurs for the mismanagement of the corrupted authority and illegal consumers. Misuse of electricity is another notable cause of it. Often the government is not sincere in producing the required amount of electricity in proportion to the public demand. To speak honestly, electricity is the driving force of the economy of a country. Hence, Load-shedding has a far-reaching impact in the socioeconomic development. When it occurs in an area, the whole area plunges into darkness. The Mills, Factories, Industries can not operate their activities. Thus it hinders our production and weakens our economy. Students and examinees suffer a lot for it. They sit idle closing their books. Life becomes miserable especially in hot weather. Dying patients suffer terribly as their operations are hampered by the Load-shedding. If we want to get rid of this curse, we must take immediate steps. Government should generate sufficient power by building new powerhouses and repairing the olds. Only the government will not be able to solve this problem. We must stop the misuse of electricity. It is possible only by an all out effort of both the government and the common people.
