Railway station is a place where trains stop and start from. It is a part and parcel of the railway communication of a country. Passenger gets down and get into train from a railway station. On one side of the station, rickshaws, baby taxis and cars wait for the passengers. In every station, there is a long building which is called station house. The station house has several rooms which are used as a booking office, ticket counters and waiting rooms for passengers. Besides, there are rooms for station-master, guards and other officials. The station master is all in all in station. He is assisted by some staffs, railway police and guards. Passengers come to the station, collect their tickets and wait for their desired trains. They pass their time by taking tea, light foods or meal from the nearby shops or restaurants. There are at least two or more railway tracks in every station. The station becomes very much crowded and noisy when a train comes. Passengers hurry to get down from the train. At the same time passengers shove one another noisily to get in to the train. At this time, porters are also found busy carrying heavy luggage of the passenger. Hawkers are seen shouting, the vendors moving and the beggars are seen begging by singing religious songs. As soon as the train leaves the station, it sinks into silence and turns in a deserted place. In our country, the most stations do not have shed over the platform. Besides, the station remains unclean and becomes the shelter for the vagabond. Sometimes passengers become victim of pick-pockets and harassment of the porters. The Railway department of the government should take proper steps to increase the facilities of the stations.
