Students and Social Services

 


Introduction: Students are the driving force of any society. They have some duties to their society. Students can bring about positive changes in any society by their strong determination. Hence, it is essential for the students to know about their responsibilities towards the society.

Undoubtedly, the first and foremost job of the students is to study. But apart from that, they have to do many other things. Our society is beset with so many problems. Students can engage themselves to remove those problems from the society. 

i) Removing illiteracy: Illiteracy is a curse to our society. Students can play an important role in removing illiteracy from our society. It is a gigantic task. But it is not impossible. In fact, our country will be entirely free from illiteracy if every single student can literate at least two illiterate person.

ii) To the field of urgent help: Students can come forward to give a hand to the society in distress. In an event of natural calamity like floods and tidal waves students can collect funds for the poor and helpless. In winter, they can collect warm cloths from solvent and rich people. After all, students should come first in any type of worse situation of their society.

iii) To make people conscious: Students can contribute to spread awareness among the common people of our society. They can make them conscious about the social problems like dowry, early marriage, eve-teasing etc. Moreover, population problem is the biggest problem of our society. They can make people conscious about the brutal side of over-population.

iv) About the scientific methods of cultivation: Though ours is an agriculture based society, most of our farmers do not know about the newer scientific tools of cultivation. In most of our village society, farmers are still following the old ways of cultivation. Students can convince them about using the latest scientific methods of cultivation. 

v) To remove corruption: Bangladesh is a developing country and its social structure is heavily attacked by corruption. By hook or by crook we have to stop corruption immediately. Students can play a vital role to remove corruption from the society.

Conclusion: Students are the future leaders of a country. They can establish a happy and prosperous society by doing their responsibilities properly. They should be honest, persevering, well-mannered, punctual and strong determined to dedicate their life for the sake of their society.
