The history of migration began as soon as human was created. The reason was to collect food from the nature and live. Moreover, for finding a safe place to protect themselves from natural disasters, wild animals encouraged to migrate. Various species of migratory birds comes Bangladesh from different places of the world every year. The beautiful places of this country which are famous for migratory birds are - Jahangirnagar University, Hakaluki Haor and Hyle Haor, Tangoar Beels, Nijhum Dwip, Chitagong Hill tracts, Mirpur Zoo, Mirpur ceramic lake, Netrokona Haor and many small as well as large lakes throughout the country. Most of these birds come from the mountainous northern parts of the subcontinent namely Himalayas and beyond. Some species come from different parts of Europe and as Far East as Siberia. There are about 628 bird species in Bangladesh, of which 244 are Migratory. About 100 species of migratory birds regularly or occasionally visit the country. Among these, many species are several endangered with the threat of extinction. Poachers are the biggest danger to migratory birds. Although the Wildlife Preservation Act of our country prohibits the hunting of migratory birds and wild animals, the law is not being implemented. Open sales of wild and migratory birds in the cities have become a common affair. The poachers take the advantage of the people’s lack of awareness of the importance of migratory birds. The government must have to enforce the prevailing law against the poachers. The consciousness of the common people is also a must regarding this.

Paragraph on Traffic Police

Traffic Police is a person who is appointed to maintain and guide the traffic and easing the traffic-jams on cities and towns. Traffic police have been functioning independently in our country since the inception of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in 1976. Even before the establishment of DMP, traffic police used to work under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Dhaka district. The origin of modern traffic police can be traced to Dhaka city in 1940s. From that time, traffic police used to maintain roads with whistle and by waving arms and hand signals. The advent of the modern cars intensified the need for more traffic police. Gradually technology has improved and automated traffic signals have come into play. The primary duty of a traffic police is to maintain the smooth flow of traffic in the city. The Traffic Control Room functions round the clock to coordinate with the field units. The life of a traffic police is very toilsome. A traffic police has to do eight hours duty every day. His day starts usually at eight o’clock in the morning. He works at some important crossing of the city to control the traffic. Sometimes he stands under the traffic island and sometimes he has to stand under the scorching sun. Morning is the time when he feels a bit comfortable. But as the office-hour and school-time come near, the rush becomes heavier. All sorts of vehicles, buses, trucks, cars, tempos, scooters, cycles, rickshaws, trolleys get stuck on the roads. Often he becomes upset to guide the vehicles. But it is a matter of great regret that traffic police are ill-paid in our country. Sometimes they falls victim to rude behaviour of the car-owners. We all should be more tolerant on the road and helpful to them.

Importance of Living in Society

For various reasons, ancient people were united to establish society. As social being, we need food, shelter, companions and cooperation. And we must need to help each other. All these needs can be fulfilled in only a community or society. Hence living in a society can make people good and happy citizens. If we want to live a hazard free life we must have to live within society. Such as, to prevent theft or robbery, united security measures are essential within a particular village or city area. A community may have a problem like they don’t have a primary school in the village or locality. So the people of that area need to gather and discuss the issue in a meeting and find out the solution. To establish peace and harmony in a society, often experienced, elderly people mediate between quarreling people. This is not possible without living in the society. Apart from acquiring knowledge and skills, the youths must cultivate good qualities which they can learn from the society. They have to learn from their surrounded people how to show respect towards the elder. Beside all these, a man must have to possess some humane qualities which he/she can obtain from the society he/she lives in. Great Socrates has a famous speech about it. He was rightly said, “Nobody can live alone, unless they are either angels or devils”.
