Pran Frooto Viqarunnisa Noon Science Festival begins

The Pran Frooto Viqarunnisa Noon 20th Science Festival 2018 organised by Viqarunnisa Noon Science Club began on the school campus in the city yesterday.

 

Workers' Party President and lawmaker Rashed Khan Menon inaugurated the fair as the chief guest.

Principal of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College Manju Ara Begum, director of the science club Mazeda Begum, teachers and students of the school and college attended on the occasion.

 

A total of 650 scientific projects of 12 schools and 13 colleges of the city were showcased at the festival. Apart from scientific projects, scientific seminars, general knowledge and quiz competition, screening of films based on science fiction, sky observation session, and science, math's, physics, astro and chemistry Olympiads will also be held during the four-day festival.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Menon called on other educational institutions to organize such festivals and said the students will have to be more involved in creative activities alongside their studies. Later, he visited different stalls of the science festival.

 

Scientist Mohammad Ibrahim, Uzma Chowdhury, director of Pran Group was also present on the occasion.

 

Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique, vice chancellor of Dhaka University, will be present at the concluding ceremony as the chief guest of the festival.

Annual prize giving ceremony of the Viqarunnisa Noon School observed yesterday with much grandeur, enthusiasm and excitement. In the ceremony, the students who acquired GPA-5 from the school this year are awarded prizes. The programme was organized at the school auditorium. The Headmistress of the school presided over the whole programme.

 

The programme started at 10 a.m. with the recitation from the holy Quran. Honourable Education Minister Mr. Nurul Islam Nahid was the chief guest of the programme. All the successful students who have obtained GPA-5 in the SSC exam-2011 from the school were present there. Besides, teachers of the school, guardians, ex-students, and members of the managing committee were present at the programme.

 

First of all, the Headmistress of the school delivered an introductory speech. In her speech, she focused on the glorious past of the school. Then she presented the result sheet and first declared the name of the students who have obtained GPA Golden-5 and then that of others. The students took their prizes from the chief guest. The Honourable Education Minister praised the students of the school for their satisfactory results. He gave a short but instructive speech towards them. A short cultural programme was arranged after the distribution of prizes.

A farewell for the coming SSC examinee of 2023 was organized on 11 February at Viqarunnisa Noon School auditorium. Honourable Education Minister was the chief guest of the programme. The Headmistress of the school presided over the whole programme.

 

The programme started at 10 a.m. with the recitation from the holy Quran. All the students who are going to sit for S.S.C exam from the school were present there. The students of class ten (new) offered them with the sticks of Rajanigandha flower. Several examinees expressed their thoughts about their favourite school. Few of them were about to cry while telling about their school. The chief guest delivered a short speech advising the students. He advised them to be serious about their studies.

 

After the chief guest; teachers of the school, guardians, ex-students, and members of the managing committee presented their lecture. At last, the Headmistress of the school- Mrs. Manju Ara Begum delivered a short but instructive speech to her students. She told her students to be established themselves as perfect man by acquiring knowledge. At the end of the function, the religious teacher of the school led a Special Prayer wishing the success of all the examinee.
