Once upon a time, there lived a powerful king in a country. He was very much curious to know about his future. He often invited the best astrologer of the kingdom. Even, whenever he would hear about any famous astrologer, he used to call him on.
The king used to reward those astrologers who used to tell something pleasant about him. But he would punish those who anticipate anything unpleasant for him. So, honest and truthful astrologers of the country used to avoid the king’s palace.
One day, an honest astrologer happened to stop at his capital on his way. The king called on him to know his future. The astrologer anticipated the king's future and said something unpleasant. At this, the king got furious and condemned him to death. He said, "Men like you should not live to spoil the peace of the world.”
But another thought crossed his mind before the astrologer was removed for execution. The king asked the astrologer “How long would you live?” This honest and wise astrologer thought for a while. With ready wit he said, ’’The stars declare that I shall die only a week before your death. So, good-bye, your majesty. He also said, "I shall wait to receive your Majesty where you are going to send me."
At this the king turned pale as dead and shouted, “Drive this man away, let him not come again.” He also decided that he will never be curious about his future. Thus the clear-eyed astrologer saved his own life and gave the king a lesson.
