Once there was a poor boy named Belal. He lived in a slum with his parents near the Kamalapur Railway Station. He often used to play by the rail line.
One day he was walking by the railway. Suddenly he found a breakage in the track of the rail. Though the boy was little, he possessed ready-wait. He realized that the breakage may be dangerous for the train and the passengers. He heard the whistle of a running train. He knew beforehand that a train accident can take a huge toll of lives. He thought in himself that, "I have to do something and that must be without any delay." He started thinking swiftly how to save the train and the passengers. He made a way-out in a very short span of time. He was wearing a red shirt. He put it off quickly. Then he hung his red shirt in a bamboo pole and raised the pole high. He started moving it standing by the rail-line. He was waving the pole frantically so that the driver could see him. Fortunately, the driver saw the red shirt and took it as a red signal. The driver managed to stop the train just before the broken part of the line. The driver and other staffs got off the train and asked Belal, "Why you have showed the signal?" Belal showed them the damage part of the line. The driver felt relieving at this. All the people who were present there praised Belal highly for his excellent ready-wit. Hundreds of people were saved from the ensuing danger for him. Electronic and the print media highlighted the story of Belal. The Railway department of the Government rewarded him. Thus Belal turned into a little hero around the country.
The story of Belal teaches us one thing- if we keep alert always and be conscious about our surroundings, then many dangers can be avoided.
