Hazrat Abdul Quadir Zillani is considered as one of the famous revivers of Islam. His father was Abu Salih Musa al-Hasani who was also a preacher of Islam. Zillani was a truthful person throughout his whole life. Even in distresses he used to speak the truth.
Once, Hazrat Abdul Quadir Zillani decided to go to Baghdad for education. It was far away from his home. His mother sent him with a group of merchants. On the eve of his departure his mother said to him, "My son, never tell a lie and don't get frightened in any difficult situation”. But at that period, travelling was not safe as today. Always there was the fear of robbery at every step. The desolate ways were infested with robbers. They travelled for four days without any mishap. But on the fifth day a large gang of robbers looted all the valuable goods from them. One of the robbers caught hold Zillani and brought before their leader. But Zillani did not get frightened at this. The leader said, "He is a mare boy. He seems to have nothing. Let him go." But Zillani told the truth boldly. He said, I have fifty gold coins sewed up inside my coat. The leader unsewed the coat and noticed the gold coins. The leader was very much astonished. He asked the boy, "Why have you disclosed the fact?" Zillani answered, "My mother told me not to tell a lie in any condition”.
The true words of such a little boy impressed the leader of the robber. He embraced Zillani at once and took an oath to give up the foul practice of robbery. This event inspires us all to stay on the way of truth.
