Paragraph on a Rainy Day

A Rainy Day is common in the rainy season. In such a day, it rains all day long. The rainy day looks dark and gloomy. The sky remains overcast with thick clouds and the sun is hardly seen in a rainy day. Often there are flashes of lightning and roars of thunder in the sky. Sometimes it drizzles and sometimes it rains heavily. When it rains cats and dogs, rivers, tanks, wells, canals etc. are filled with water to the brim. A rainy day hampers our day to day life. People are to go outside with umbrella. In villages, the “Kancha” roads become muddy and slippery. Nobody wants to go outside except any urgent need. Hence, the roads become desolate. Those who are compelled to go out they are seen walking on the road with umbrella over the head, shoes in hand and clothes folded up to knee. Sometimes people slip and fall on the muddy road. In cities, there is water clogging on the lower points of the roads. Often some lower parts of the city become flooded. As schools do not sit in such a day, students stay at home and enjoy like holiday. The day is not at all enjoyable day for the poor. The day brings sufferings for them. They can not go out in search of work. So, they have to pass the day in starvation. The domestic animals keep standing in their sheds and bellow for fodder. But the day is a desired one for poets and writers. The day inspires them to write literature. Above all a rainy day is an inactive day.
