It’s a well-known fact that the food we eat has a direct role to play in our overall health, mental wellbeing, and immunity levels. Today, people across the world are increasingly getting more and more health-conscious and the popularity of organic food is on the rise.
Definition : Foods that are produced without any artificial chemicals like Synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers are called organic foods. On the contrary, foods that grown using harmful chemicals are called Non-Organic foods.
Differences : The difference between organic and non-organic (conventional) food has to do with how food is produced. But this is not enough to differentiate between these two kinds of foods.
Nutrients contents: Organic foods contain high quantities of antioxidants compared to Non-Organic foods. Micro nutrients like iron, zinc and vitamin C are higher in organic foods than Non-Organic foods.
Safety: Organic foods are free of artificial additives. Hence this sort of foods are helpful for the body. Apart from these, organic foods reduces the risk of developing chronic illnesses. On the other hand, Non-Organic foods are very much detrimental to human health.
Appearances: There is considerable differences between organic and non-Organic foods in their appearance. Organic foods appear to be more natural than non-Organic. Non-Organic foods attain almost perfect shapes in contrast to organic foods.
Ingredients: Organic dairy products have high levels of fatty acids and low fats that are hygienic for our body whereas non-Organic foods have nitrates and cadmium that increases health risks.
To be honest, organic foods are safer, tastier and healthier than non-Organic foods. Besides, organic foods pose less threat to our environment also.
