Paragraph on Traffic Jam

Traffic jam is one of the most irritating problems in Bangladesh. It is a common affair in our cities and towns. The problem is most acute in our capital city- Dhaka. There are many reasons behind this problem. The first reason is our narrow and inadequate roads. Sometimes these roads are seen blocked by the hawkers and illegal occupiers. Then comes the fact of rapid population explosion of our country. Another important cause of it is the increasing number of vehicles in our cities. Our roads are always full of unlimited rickshaws, buses, trucks, minibuses, private cars, motor-cycles and so on. And the dreadful matter is that, the number of private cars is increasing rapidly. Unauthorized markets by the road side, public meeting, processions etc. are also some reasons behind traffic jam in our cities. Besides all these, most of our drivers are not skilled well and not aware of traffic rules. In some cases, they are not willing to obey the traffic rules. The consequence of traffic jam is dreadful. It causes untold suffering to our urban life. Traffic jam kills our valuable time brutally and lessens our working hours. It causes much suffering to serious patient carried by an ambulance. Fire brigades can not reach the destination in time owing to traffic jam. Students, office goers, businessman are to waste valuable hours on their way. If we want to get rid of this problem, we have to take some necessary steps. First of all, the number of roads and lanes should be increased. Illegal parking is a common phenomenon in our cities. It must be checked anyhow. The manpower of traffic police also should be increased. Above all, the population explosion must be checked anyhow. Detailed Area Plan (DAP) is also a best possible solution to this. If all these steps are taken properly, traffic jam will be reduced to a large extent.
