Our society is suffering from many social evils. Eve teasing is one of the worst evils of our society. In fact, eve-teasing is a euphemism of the term-“sexual harassment”. Here, eve is a Biblical reference of the first woman of the world. Eve-teasing usually involves young boys or men annoying girls or women by making sexual innuendos in public or working place. School and college gates, street or public place is the common spot of eve-teasing. Unfortunately, girls and women are becoming the victims of teasing even at their working place. It has become a regular occurrence in our country today. It is a curse to our society. To speak the truth, it is a traumatic experience for the girls and women which can leave deep psychological scars on their mind. It hinders the socialization process of them. This problem creates several other problems. Sometimes parents who are concerned about the safety of their daughters, keep their daughter home, instead of sending them to school, or marry them off at an early age. It is a punishable offence in our country. Nevertheless, the number of the events of eve-teasing is increasing day by day. More than thirty girls have committed suicide in our country in the last two year (2011, 2012), being teased by savages. We must have to eradicate this dreadful curse from our society anyhow. The eve-teasers must be punished strictly. Social awareness is a must regarding this. Electronic and print media can play a vital role to stop teasing. Parents also have to be conscious. An all out effort is necessary to stop eve-teasing.
