The King of Scotland/ Failures are the pillars of success /Robert Bruce and the spider

Once there was a good king in Scotland. His name was Robert Bruce. He loved his country and subjects very much. His subjects were happy under his rule. They loved and respected their king too.

Once the greedy king of England wanted to grab Scotland and rob the independence of its countrymen. The English soldiers attacked Scotland. Robert Bruce withstood the enemy with all his forces. He tried his best to uphold the independence of his country. But fortune did not smile upon him. He had to retreat with his soldiers. After some days, he attacked his enemies to get back the liberty of his country. But he failed. He tried six times one after another to save his country from enemies but failed. At last, he took shelter in a lonely cave. He was passing some days there in despair. He was shocked deeply. He was passing his sorrowful days thinking of his country and of his undone subjects. But there was no way. One day he was lying on his bed in the cave. Suddenly he noticed a spider. It was trying to reach the ceiling with the help of its silken thread. It was making a cobweb. The king kept looking to the persevering spider. It was trying again and again to go up but dropped down every time. About thirty attempts made by the spider failed one after another. After a few more efforts, the spider became successful. This event, stirred Bruce and he decided to fight once again. He regained his lost vitality. The perseverance of the spider inspired him much. He thought that," If the spider does not accept defeat, then why should I?" Filled with new hope and confidence, he brought together his scattered forces. He fought against his enemies once more with renewed energy. This time he defeated his enemies and his country became free.

Thus Robert Bruce has set an example of the truth- "Failures are the pillars of success". So we all should be patient and persevering like him to be successful.
