English is acknowledged universally as the international language. It is the language of the People of England and as well as the people of America. It is that prestigious language through which anybody can communicate with the people residing in any country of the world. According to world statistics, about 350 million people around the world speak English as their first language and another 300 million people use it as their second language. It is the official or semi-official language in more than 60 countries of the world. Beside these, more than 80% of the total information that are stored in computer is in English. So, we can easily guess the importance of the language from these few information. Almost all the reputed organizational offices use English as their official language. Biggest multinational companies of the world also use English to communicate between their offices in different countries. International trade and commerce can not run without English. In fact, this language is important in all spheres of modern life. In terms of the higher education, there is no alternative to English. Most of the books on higher education are written in English. So, if anyone wants to be highly educated in any subject, learning English is a must for him. Now-a-days, a good command over English is a must to acquire a higher position in job sectors. Often job advertisements ask for good communication knowledge in English. To speak the truth, it is impossible for candidate to get a good job without the efficiency in English. Our country is a third-world developing country. Most of the people of this country are not skilled at this language. In order to develop this land and to keep pace with the modern world, we must have to learn English properly.
