Among various kinds of outdoor games, I like football most. So my favourite sport personality is undoubtedly a footballer. My favourite sport personality is Lionel Messi. I like him for his unique technique to play over the ground. Messi was born on 24 June, 1987 in Argentina. To be established as a world famous footballer, he had to struggle a lot. This is also a reason why I like him. Since his boyhood, he was determined to be a famous footballer. At the age of five, Messi started playing football. Unfortunately, at the age of 11, he was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency. It was the biggest obstacle of his life. He did not have enough money to pay for the costly treatment. Carles Rexach, the sporting director of Barcelona, was made aware of Messi's talent. He became fascinated seeing Messi's playing capacity and signed him as a young talent in the team. The director gave him a condition that he would have to start a new life in Spain. Then his family moved to Europe and he started in the club's youth teams. The next successful career of Messi is known to all. In the year 2009, he won his first FIFA World Player of the Year award. He also won the UEFA Best Player in Europe Award (2010–11). At the age of 24, Messi became Barcelona's all-time top scorer in all official club competitions. At age of 25, Messi became the youngest player to score 200 goals. On 11 March 2010 this renowned footballer was announced as a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF. This unique football expert is often compared to Diego Maradona due to his similar playing style and gesture.
