The Lion and the Mouse
Once upon a time, there lived a lion in a jungle. He felt very proud as he was the king of the jungle. He did not care the other beasts of the jungle.
One day the lion was sleeping in its large cave. A little mouse was playing nearby. By chance, it ran over the body of the lion. At this, the lion woke up and became very angry. He saw that he was disturbed by a tiny mouse. The lion caught the mouse and said with a dreadful roar, "Thou little pest, I will kill you. How dare you to tease me?” The mouse was already scared and started trembling with fear.
The mouse begged his little life, "Your majesty, I am a tiny creature. If you kill a poor creature like me, it will bring no fame to you. Save my life for this time". Out of pity, the lion freed the mouse. The mouse became very grateful to the lion and said "Your majesty, I am a tiny beast, but I can help others. Sooner or later I might help you." Hearing this, the gigantic lion burst into laughter and said, "O you! Are you suitable to help me? How funny!”
Then the lion leave his bed and ordered the mouse. "Now go from here, and never come to disturb me again."
However, some days later, the lion fell into a hunter's trap. The lion tried hard to escape from the net of the trap but failed. He began to roar. That little mouse heard the roar and came at the spot swiftly. The little mouse consoled the king by saying, "Your majesty, be quiet, please. I will cut the net of the trap by my little but strong teeth. Then you will be released" within a few minutes, the mouse cut the net into pieces and set the lion free.
Being free, the lion said, "Little friend, you are small in size but you are powerful. You have saved my life. "He also said, "I will be ever grateful to you."
We should never look down upon the small.
Moral: Sometimes help may come from those who are inferior to us.
