On a hot summer day, a fox was looking for food. He roamed about for a long time but could get nothing. His stomach growled in hunger and his throat was dry with thirst.
Suddenly he came near to a vineyard and saw unlimited lovely grapes that hung there. The fox thought in itself,
"How juicy they look. Oh I am sure; these are going to be melts soon in my mouth”
The greedy fox could no longer control itself. He entered
into vineyard at once. He jumped to reach the bunch of grapes but fell down. He
jumped again and again. No, they were much higher. But the cunning fox was
still hopeful.
He jumped with all his strength. But they were still out of reach. Those yummy grapes were hung higher than the fox could reach. No matter how hard he tried, the fox could not reach the grapes. He panted and began to sweat out of exhaustion. This time he felt very much disappointed.
Giving up finally, he looked up in contempt and said,
"Those grapes must be sour, anyway.
I wouldn't eat them even if they were served to me on a golden dish."
Saying
this, the fox proceeded to walk away.
Moral:
It's easy to despise what you cannot
have.
