| The Fox without Tail |
Once upon a time there lived a cunning fox in a jungle. He was evil-minded and always used to think about how to befool the others.
One day the fox fell into a trap. He was very clever and all the subtle ways to escape from such traps. He tried to get free and managed to be free but his tail blocked with trap. He tried his best but failed to save his tail. It was already afternoon and the fox was scared thinking that the hunter would come soon and kill him. So, he tried once again with his strength. This time he lost his tail. He felt very sad and ashamed. He thought that, "Now everybody will laugh at me." He thought and hit upon a plan. He called a meeting of all the foxes of the jungle. They gathered at a place. Then they asked the cunning fox why he called them all. The fox without tail said, "Dear brothers, I have discovered a new thing. I have thought a lot and found that our tail is of no use. It makes us ugly to look at. That's why; I have cut off my tail. Now I am feeling so free, light and sportive. I can run faster than ever before. So, I suggest you to cut off your ugly tails and do it now." All the foxes listened to him attentively and many of them took it as a good suggestion. They started to consider their tail as a burden. They said, "We want to cut our tail without any delay."
At that moment a wise fox stood up and said, "Listened to me please, don't accept his suggestion. That fox probably fell into a trap and lost his tail. Now he looks funny. Hence, he wants all of us to look like him". All the foxes started thinking over the point. They found sense in the speech of the wise fox and realized the truth. The wise fox also added, "Look at your tails. How nice they are! Nature has given us this tail. And remember, everything is useful and beautiful which is natural."
All the foxes were influenced by the speech of the old and wise fox. They changed their decisions. The fox without tail found that his trick has been spoiled. So he ran away from the place. The evil plan of the fox without tail was ended in smoke in this way.
Moral: Too much cunning overreaches itself.
