How to Learn English well

 

English is acknowledged as the international language across the world. So, it has great importance as a second language in our country. We need to learn higher education, research, official correspondence, international communication and for many other purposes. English is being widely used in all the spheres of life. But it is a matter of regret that most of the students of our country are weak in English. In spite of reading English for long 10 years in primary, junior and secondary level, they can not speak or write English well. In fact they fail to understand the exact ways of learning english. To have a good command over any language, a learner has to develop all the four skills reading, writing, speaking and listening. To learn English well, the first and foremost duty of a student is to attend his English classes regularly. He should listen to his teachers with rapt attention. If any concept does not seem clear to him, he should ask his teacher. He should know how to utter a word correctly. He has to know types of words and their different usages in different places. To know this, he will have to know grammar well. Vocabulary also should be enriched. To enrich vocabulary he can read English newspaper or journals regularly. He can write down the new words in a diary with meaning. He can take help from a standard dictionary. One important thing is that, he must be habituated with writing one paragraph daily on any selected topic. To improve listening skill, he can listen to BBC, VOA, and CNN news. If one has strong desire to learn English, he can succeed by following these instructions.
