Paragraph on a Street Beggar

A Street Beggar

A street beggar is a familiar figure in the cities and towns of our country. He is seen sitting or standing by the roadside and begging alms. Generally street beggars wear torn and patched up clothes. They choose bus stop, railway station, launch or steamer terminal or market place for begging. Sometimes they are seen in queues in front of the mosque or temples. Whenever they see a passer-by, they stretch out their hands. A street beggar may be male or female, young or old. He may be old, blind, crippled or disabled. Each street beggar has his own way to attract the passers-by. Someone wants to draw people's sympathy by showing their incapable limbs of their body. Someone recites verses form they holy Quran. Someone draws the mercy of the passers-by with his peculiar voice. Sometimes the passers-by feel disgusted with their loud voice and abhor them. However, a street beggar leads a very miserable life. He lives on the charity of other. He wears an old and shabby dress. Actually, he begs because he has no other means to survive. Nevertheless, begging should not be encouraged. It is a social curse for any country. The children of the beggars also become beggars. They grow as professional beggars. There are some street beggars who are bodily strong and they can lead normal life if they wish. But they are unwilling to work. Hence, they are the burden of any nation or any country. For this reason, begging is forbidden in many countries. Our country should also ban begging. But before that, their proper rehabilitation should be ensured.
